"Be love. If you want to change the world, you have to change your heart. If you want to change your heart, you have to change your mind." Marie
Marie, a dear friend of mine, had "Be Love" tattooed on her forearm. She lifted up her sleeves one time as she described how love to her was not something to just GIVE IT or WAIT for it but to BE IT.
A lot of times I find myself wanting to only love in big, grandiose and impactful ways. So if it's not big, it's definitely not worthy of it being given. Marie's tattoo "Be Love" is one of those things that had never left my mind.
It reminds me that love starts from the inside and not from the outside. It's found in the small, the insignificant and the mundane. It's not transactional performance of niceness but a mindset that starts from within. It starts from being.
Isn't it funny how personal tattoos don't just end up reminders for the ones with it, but also for those around them?
And with this my friends, we conclude our Inktober 2016 challenge. It's been an incredible journey. An upcoming blog summary is almost ready.
